Interview with Chad
What was the clients vision for this project?
Our clients wanted to take an already beautifully remodeled home and expand square footage and functionality while still maintaining the aesthetic and feel. They wanted to have more entertaining space and indoor/outdoor flow. They also wanted a much larger pantry.
COAT completed phase one of this remodel for different owners – see phase one.
Were there any unexpected challenges?
Yes. This job started with a different owner who had their own vision for the design and halfway through the process, the house was sold. We immediately had to pivot and start designing with the new owner just days before the project started. This new design evolved throughout the job so we could stay on track. Another set of challenges were brought on by COVID. Material shortages due to supply chain issues, were difficult and caused serious set backs to the timeline.
What are you the team most proud of?
We love how the addition flows so well with our previous design and remodel. Some of my favorites are:
The Wine room. I love how the custom steel doors came out as well as the interior.
The Fireplace and built-ins around it. Unique design, came out great!
The new hidden walk-in pantry is just so cool too.
